Content marketing is a marketing strategy in which a company specifically develops content – blog posts, social media posts, white papers, newsletters, eBooks, etc – that people will find valuable and want to consume.
Inbound marketing focuses on creating quality content that pulls people toward your company and product, where they naturally want to be. By aligning the content you publish with your customer’s interests, you naturally attract inbound traffic that you can then convert, close, and delight over time.
Outbound marketing, or traditional marketing, is the marketing we grew up with: radio, TV, newspapers, magazines, direct-mail, billboards, event sponsorships, etc, which involves reaching as many people as possible via these methods. The traditional outbound strategy of mass reach can even be found in such digital distribution forms as email blasts, banner ads, pay per click (PPC) and spam.
